Operation Manager – Asphalt Division

Role:
The position of Asphalt Operations Manager is responsible for the operation, maintenance, quality and staffing of the asphalt plant within the organization and overseeing the construction and maintenance of roads. The duties include ensuring the asphalt plant, products and associated equipment is safe, well maintained, of the highest quality and all certifications, permits and inspections are current and complete.







Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience managing asphalt plant preferred.
  • Strong understanding of asphalt mix designs and aggregate quality control.
  • Strong maintenance and troubleshooting background.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Have the ability to communicate fluently in English.
  • Demonstrated openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all asphalt operations maintain the highest standards in safety, quality, schedule and maintenance.
  • Manage asphalt plant operations to be properly staffed with qualified, well trained employees.
  • Maintain asphalt materials at an optimum level and place material orders.
  • Responsible for reporting material usages and inventories to accounting in accordance with financial reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate plant operations to comply with all environmental requirements and ensure all environmental reporting and compliance are met.
  • Communicate with the sales staff as to cost, production capabilities, project status and other asphalt plant information.
  • Review monthly production costs and adjust operations in order to meet budget.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for staff.
  • Assess equipment and facility requirements and make recommendations for replacement or improvement.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of industry advancements, specifications, safety standards and issues.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of asphalt drum and batch plants and all associated facilities.
